The show follows Ron, Amy, Bobby, and their team of repossession agents in Wendell, North Carolina, and is a spin-off of the truTV series All Worked Up (the town that has jurisdiction over the Lizard Lick unincorporated area). The show is well-known for the many clashes and brawls that occur during repossessions.
In addition to its regular episodes, the show also features special episodes called "Reckless Abandonments" that focus on a single repossession incident that involves multiple teams representing different banks or loan companies. These episodes often end with a brawl breaking out between the teams involved.
Ron Howard's character, named "The Sheriff", is the leader of the agency and his presence is required at every confrontation. He usually brings along an assistant who helps him out with paperwork or provides security when they are needed most. His wife Carley works as an attorney and is aware of her husband's job but doesn't care for it. She has been known to yell at her husband if he gets too close to some of the more dangerous customers. Their daughter Amy appears in several episodes throughout the first season helping her father document repossessions. She wants to be a social worker like her mom but will do whatever it takes to help her family make money. Her boyfriend Bobby is a mechanic at the garage where her parents work and goes by the nickname "BOBBY WROTEN".
Lizard Lick Towing is an American reality television show that is improvised. It is shot in the cinema verite manner, and the network behind the show, truTV, claims that their series "includes real-life scenarios," as opposed to other reality shows, which "typically contain contests or other highly produced events.".
The show follows two friends from Miami, Florida, who work at a towing company called Lizard Lick Towing. They take advantage of people's desperation by offering them cheap rates on their cars' repairs. However, this usually leads to more trouble than it is worth since most of these customers cannot pay their bills and will end up having their vehicles taken away by bail bondsmen.
It originally aired from June 2009 to January 2010 for one season with 13 episodes. Since then, it has been renewed for a second season which is set to air in 2013.

Ron struggles with the fallout from his impulsive decision to sell Lizard Lick Towing: the new owner threatens to lay off the whole staff.
Lizard Lick was a family business that had been passed down from father to son for several generations. When Ronnie sold the company, he decided it was time for him to move on with his life and find another job. However, since this was a family business, everyone feared what would happen to them if Ronnie left... especially since he was the only one who could get into the shop through the back door!
In order to keep his employees safe, Ronnie created a trust fund for each of them so they would still be paid even though he wasn't able to work due to his injuries. This made everyone happy except for Ronnie, who now has to deal with people telling him he's being selfish since he didn't give more money to the company.
Even though Lizard Lick Towing is now in good hands, the family business isn't what it used to be and there's a chance it might not last much longer.
